Name: Sora Yoon
What story about your country today would you like to tell the world?
Our nation is a small country like the Netherlands. Nowadays our economic situation is depressed, I worry about that. We have a lot of unemployed people. Especially the manufacturing industry is in a slump. But I know we have a potential power so I hope we will recover from the worldwide crisis. Aside from that we love the Dutch because of Guus Hiddink. We truly appreciate him and the Netherlands. I hope people worldwide get to know South Korea better through my reports. That’s my wish.
How did you become a reporter?
I have studied broadcasting and film making in Dong-ah broadcasting college and Konkuk University in Seoul. I graduated there. One day my professor Wangtae Lim recommended me to Metropolis TV - so I become correspondent. I really appreciate that. I always thank the Lord for giving everything if I truly want anything.
Where and how do you live?
I live in Suwon near Seoul in South Korea. I have an older brother. Sometimes I forget our country is a divided country because when I was born, we were already divided, so it doesn’t affect me. But I want our divided Korea to be one, I love both of our countries, not only South Korea but also North Korea.
What did you dream of as a child?
When I was a little child, I wanted to be a teacher, lawyer or journalist, something like that because I truly like to talk to people. I now became the first correspondent of metropolis from Korea. I’m so proud of that because now I can tell our nation’s stories to worldwide viewers.
