A crude form of golf in New Delhi
Gilla Danda is an old game played in Delhi. Lots of betting is involved. Purpose of the game is to hit a piece of wood, the Gilli, over the furthest possible distance in six strikes. The team that manages to hit the Gilli over the longest distance wins the game, and gains the money the opposing team wagered. Neeraj spent a day with the Gilla Danda-players, and lost 100 rupees in the process.
