Dear all, first and foremost: the staff in Hilversum and the correspondents wish you an inspiring 2010!
Since our theme on Girlpower last November, we’ve been following the story of Fazea. The woman who after a long struggle finally managed to divorce which forced her to live on the streets of Sana’a with her newborn baby and other children. Some visitors of this website donated her money and this made life a bit easier for Fazea at the start of this new year, as our correspondent Mogib who produced the report writes from Sana’a:
“The day before yesterday Fazea moved to her new flat, the rent is paid for the coming 6 months. Though it is a basic flat, the flat consist of 2 small rooms a toilet and a small kitchen. It is unfurnished of course, however I bought all the basic furniture needed for her and the children from the donated money such as, a cooker, a gaze slender, blankets, mattresses, TV, and plates..etc. Plus food supply for a few months, the children will join the school which is in the same neighborhood. By the way none of the neighbors know about her stories and divorce, it is easier for her this way to integrate. Fazea will also start learning some new skills, so she can generate some income in the near future.”
